La Petite Vanguard GSM Field Blend 2023 750ml
SOURCED FROMĀ SEPPELTSFIELD, BAROSSA VALLEY
Weāve always thought of the La Petite Vanguard as being our example of a Bistro-style wine ā the experimental sibling to Vanguardist. Youthful & vibrant, with great drinkability, enhanced by layers of complexity from thoughtful use of solids, skin contact, oak and other vessels.
VINEYARD AND WINERY
During the summer of 2023, we experienced another cooler season overall. Notable rainfall provided the vines with plenty of water and consistent low temperatures both contributed to a very gradual ripening period.
This particular vineyard holds great significance for us as it encompasses our winery in Seppeltsfield. It's managed using organic farming practices and features a true field
blend of interplanted Grenache (50%), Shiraz (30%), and MourvĆØdre (20%).
The yield was approximately 20HL/Ha, which was slightly higher than 2022, but still just below our long-term average.
Harvested by hand on the 11th March, the fruit was destemmed and spent four weeks on skins before being transferred to mature puncheons for eight months until
bottling without fining or filtration.
She is a bright and vibrant GSM, showcasing the Barossa in a fresh perspective distinct from more traditional interpretations.
